Catherine Cruse's dolls are unique textile works , made to measure and entirely handcrafted in France.
 Each creation, approximately 45 cm in size, is part of an artistic approach where textiles become an expressive material with a desired imperfect aspect.
 These pieces are designed as art objects , intended for decoration.
 The Ugly Doll asserts a singular presence, both raw and sensitive.
 Each piece is unique, marked by a heart sewn onto the chest , a discreet signature of the creation.
 Creating a piece requires between fifteen and thirty hours of work .
 To date, more than 800 works have been created and adopted .
